An interesting read..

Post by Who2 »

Recently, I have been reading books all about Ancient Rome it's Empire and it's Legions.
It started me off big time when upon reading a book knowing well the character depicted therein.
Marching with Caesar RW Peake.
Titus Pullo, I have known him for over 30 years, and I had to look up the author, it turns out his inspiration
came from Ray's portrayal of Pullo.
Called Ray to inform him, he said 'really I'll get the book, I said 'cool he has written 5 more I believe, all about Titus!

Anyhow the point is, I was looking up The Harra and Euphrates and came across this titbit, interesting... 8)

Well I've now read about 6 or 7 Marching with Cesar books, the author RW Peake an american ex-marine has
really taken on the role of Ray (Titus Pullo) from the HBO 'Rome TV series..

This v111 Civil War has his character dictating his memoirs to his slave Diocles.
I'm at the 'sailing down the Nile bit with Cesar & Cleopatra.
What amazes me it was way back in 2012 when I first came across RW Peake.

Anyhow here's Ray with Ray in I think 'Arthur ?

Pss: Ray might look like a 'tough, often portrayed as such but in all honesty, is a real softy.
