Recently, I have been reading books all about Ancient Rome it's Empire and it's Legions.
It started me off big time when upon reading a book knowing well the character depicted therein.
Marching with Caesar RW Peake.
Titus Pullo, I have known him for over 30 years, and I had to look up the author, it turns out his inspiration
came from Ray's portrayal of Pullo.
Called Ray to inform him, he said 'really I'll get the book, I said 'cool he has written 5 more I believe, all about Titus!
Anyhow the point is, I was looking up The Harra and Euphrates and came across this titbit, interesting...

Ps: One's never to old to stop learning as the aged Albert put it....
"The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.
Pss: I had this weird thought, I had already told you all this, Dementia must be setting in!
P*ss: I also read 4 books at the same time, it's saves looking around dementia again ? 'I do the same with drinks..
It's snowing!
An interesting read..

Re: An interesting read..
Well I've now read about 6 or 7 Marching with Cesar books, the author RW Peake an american ex-marine has
really taken on the role of Ray (Titus Pullo) from the HBO 'Rome TV series..
This v111 Civil War has his character dictating his memoirs to his slave Diocles.
I'm at the 'sailing down the Nile bit with Cesar & Cleopatra.
What amazes me it was way back in 2012 when I first came across RW Peake.
Anyhow here's Ray with Ray in I think 'Arthur ?
And 18 years later....
The sun is shining and I'm off down the market for an espresso & guinness.....

Pss: Ray might look like a 'tough, often portrayed as such but in all honesty, is a real softy.
