That time of the month!

Post by Scottishtourist » Sat Aug 08, 2015 5:05 pm

No..I'm not talking about menstruation. That's a dim and distant memory for me!

I'm talking "hair removal!"

I normally shower every evening..but once a month I run a bath, add scented candles, and wallow in it like a big walrus!

That's my time for "hair removal!"The water softens all the pores..and shaving my bits and pieces is so much easier!

I've always quite fancied "sugaring."Been waxed..but never had this done before. It's very expensive here in Scotland.

How do you ex-pats in Luxor cope with this ongoing battle?Do you shave, get threaded, succumb to waxing, sugaring, etc?

Or,are you now so used to the climate,heat,etc..that you don't see body-hair as a hindrance?

After having thrown away too many packets of wax strips that must have been stored at high temperatures in Cairo supermarkets which made them useless, I bought a Braun Silk Epil.

Unlike waxing, one does not have to grow cactus legs before using it again - that couple of times a month.

I was blessed with lots of thick hair. I was doubly blessed when most of it was on my head. The odd pluck of a stray eyebrow and the occasional use of Immac or an underarm razor (possibly monthly these days) and I am done.

I love being a 'wash and go' girl. :-)

My eldest daughter came into this world with a "glow!"

She was "mousey"brown, then quickly turned blonde. She was like a little peach..fine "down"covered her back.It was like stroking suede!

Even now,she is very "hairy!"
Unlike my youngest who was and remains dark haired to start with.

I always imagined that dark hair was thicker, more wiry, and more difficult to remove.
Not so,it seems.Eldest still comes down once a month and get's her "mom"to rip off the moustache!!Wax strips from "Boots"do the job!

Even although she's blonde...must be some kinda genetic throwback!

I have a hair cut about 5 times a year. Haven't shaved since 1973. What's your problem?
