My Blue Hair

Post by HEPZIBAH » Tue Jan 22, 2008 9:29 pm

[face=Comic Sans MS]Help! My normally fair hair is going blue. :? :(

No, I've not been using a blue rinse, and I certainly don't have blue blood either. So what's happening?

It looks as though I've been dipping part of my hair into ink. It's not a bright blue, more an indigo and it's not all over, just on a portion of the cute edge but up to at least an inch.

Any (polite :D ) suggestions please.[/face]

Eeek!!

That doesn't sound normal!!

Got no advice - apart from chop it off!!! (That's what I'd do anyway, but then I like to pretend stuff doesn't happen!)

You sure no ones having a laugh and giving you highlights while you sleep?
Worry doesn't help tomorrow's troubles,
but it does ruin today's happiness.

[face=Comic Sans MS]errrm Chlorine - but surely that would affect the whole head of hair, not just a section about 1" square deeper in colour on the ends - bit like a paint brush. Anyway I've not been swimming and only used my normal products when washing my hair. :(

If I was going to choose a colour I'd of gone for green not blue.

denisegr - that I'm very confident about. Unless some has a key to my flat that I don't know about which I very much doubt.[/face]

what have you been eating Hepzi?

re the chlorine, a woman I worked with years ago went to a very posh spa and whilst she was in a jacuzzi her beautiful long blone hair turned green, she had to have the lot cut off, apparently they'd put too much chlorine in the jacuzzi.
when she was good she was very very good but when she was bad she was better :snig:

All she needed to do was put ketchup in her hair which would have got rid of the green.
Try that Hepzi, if it doesn't work at least you'll have a lovely purple colour.;)

they tried numerous things to correct it before she had to have it cut off, they ended up paying her a fair bit of compensation too, never heard of tomato sauce working though

Blondes are prone to turning green from pool chlorine, but blue is a mystery! It's not April Fools Day, and I've missed it?

Oh how intriguing!!!

You haven't bought new blue pillowcases by any chance?? :D

Or maybe a blue brush? :sl:
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure...

Hmm, no good ideas on this one - you haven't been standing under something blue in the rain have you.

Would like to see a photo though :P

Ketchup works well :) I have used it mixed with peroxide to get a bright red when my slices had faded-it lasted a lot longer than red hair dye does as well.
I reckon Hepzi as been pigging out on red cabbage or something

I'm with Goddess, I do the same but I can see a small problem on this one. If it's just the ends and you cut them off and the problem recurs and you keep cutting an inch off......well at least the blue will be gone.

I reckon Hepzi has been smoking some blueberry flavoured tobacco in one of those bongs....you know how they get out of control on those campuses :snig:
Seriously Hepzi i think you are going to be one of those fortunate ladies that as they get older get that beautiful snow white hair.
For a guess i would say that your hair is getting quite white at the front however you have some small strands of darker pigment in between, hence giving it a steel/blue tone under the light.
I had a customer whose sides looked very blue until they eventually turned almost pure white white.

Must've been like this one Goddess. When my sister was about 8/9 pigged out on the beetroot thinnings from the garden. Stuff like that we would just wash in the rain barrel and eat on site. Later that day we heard screaming and sobbing from the bathroom. She thought she was bleeding to death. :D
