What perfume do you wear?

Post by Lucy T » Thu Jun 21, 2007 1:28 pm

I'm a bit of a perfume freak :D My everyday is Lancome Poeme, and I also have CKbe, body shop vanilla, Chloe Innocence, Thierry Mugler Alien, Loulou Blue and Escada Sexy Graffiti clogging up the bathroom shelf :D

Take my advice - I'm not using it.....

[face=Comic Sans MS] :( I can't get hold of my favourite anymore - Ralph Loren's Safari for women. I'm on my last bottle and not sure what I 'm going to do about it as I can't find anything even remotely similar. It was one of the very few perfumes that I like initialy and that also smells good once it's on me.[/face]

[face=Comic Sans MS]Unfortunately if it's on Ebay it's likely to be dodgy or old stock as it hasn't been available, certainly in the UK, for a couple of years now.

After I made my last post about it I remembered one of my friendly perfume blenders in Luxor may be able to do it for me if I some with me next time.

They also used to do a Safari body lotion which was sensative to body temperature in a way that the perfume wasn't. That hasn't been available for years sadly. :( [/face]

I tend to buy a perfume at the airport when I'm on my way to Luxor - this then becomes my 'holiday' perfume and whenever I wear it memories come flooding back.

When I put my little one to bed last night he asked me if I was wearing my Florida perfume or my Egypt perfume!!

My mom bought me my first perfume when I was a teenager. It was Guerlain's Shalimar and I still use it (not the same bottle though  )

It was only few years back I discovered another scent I liked, it was Thierry Mugler's Angel Innocent.

I've also had some Escada's summer perfumes, at the moment I've Sexy Graffiti and this new one, can't remember its name.

Newest member of my perfume family is Celine Dion's Enchanting.

Recent years I've bought perfumes from eBay and I have no complains about them! Good stuff!

I very rarely smell  or hear anyone wearing Shalimar. It's been my favourite over 15 years. But I like it that everybody doesn't smell the same as I do  That's why I didn't buy Escada summer perfumes at first because I hated that every other person was wearing those perfumes.

I wear anything I can get my sticky little hands on which is actually quite difficult in Egypt! I normally just go and visit the perfume man - he sprays me with all sorts of stuff and I buy the one I like best - then he tells me what it's supposed to be and I spend the next few days trying to work out what the hell he said! I spent a long time trying to work out what "Wick End" was.

Sorry - edited because of absolute pants spelling!!!

[face=Comic Sans MS]Thanks Lucy. I must have been writing my last post when you posted this. I just had a look and was surprised by the description they give -[/face]

Ralph Loren - Safari
Launched by the design house of Ralph Lauren in 1990 SAFARI by Ralph Lauren is classified as a flowery fragrance. This feminine scent posesses a blend of: green florals rare oils and warm citrus notes. It is recommended for daytime wear.

[face=Comic Sans MS]I would never have described it as flowery, nor as a daytime wear, although I have worn it in the daytime on occasion. Now I'll have to go back and smell it again and try to analyse it like I might a glass of wine. [/face]

At the moment I'm working my way through a bottle of Boss Woman my husband gave me for my birthday.

Old favourites include Opium, Safari for Women (can't believe that's not available in the UK anymore :( ), Paloma Picasso, Knowing by Estee Lauder, O de Lancome, Elixir Clinique, Pleasures and Contradiction :)
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure...

[face=Comic Sans MS]At the moment I alternate between Hugo Boss Woman, Hypnose by Lancome and body shop Vanilla depending on my mood in the morning! Tried out the Hypnose pour Homme the other day and may treat myself in the airport if they have it, far too nice for a man! [/face]
