46oC today..

Post by Who2 »

We shall see at 4pm..
While our back street is horrendously busy today as the Maroore (check-point) on the high road are randomly carrying out blood and urine tests on passing travellers.

I asked 'what increasing their coffers ?
No they are 'banging them up! That's a first..

I suggested putting a toll on using our bypass 10 le, locals free obviously..
All four villages would benefit.

Oh and all traffic heading North up to the check-point is closed due to laying drainage pipes.
Lucky Ahmed knows the short cuts, mind you so does everybody else, so it seems.
'Word of mouth over here is faster than any internet.... 8)

Ps: The drug smugglers from Gamola have always used this route all the way to Dabiya near the old bridge.
They should be charged ? 'more or less ' ? Answers on a postcard..lol

They are dying on the streets of London as temperatures sore to 30oC...
Well today here in sunny Thebes our temperature has dropped to a high of 43oC from 47oC.

And guess what my cinema a/c gave up the ghost 2 days ago.
It's a Carrier and has to go over to the 'dark-side for repair, as their are no engineers on our side, so they say.

I think the new pipes being laid are probably sewage pipes, what with all the new builds around here.
Watch the opening of Khartoum 1966 Charlton Heston et al,
the view from the East Bank to our side not a single dwelling,

There is hardly a gap between new villas spouting up down there.
As I view the slowly built Four Seasons Hotel multiplex plans and pools and it's restaurants online.

I was caused to find out it's owner, Blimey it's Bill Gates and some desert shiek.
Plus he has got loads of them, not that I have entered under a Four Seasons portal.

Not when a G&T Ice & slice can set you back 2.000 egp about £30 quid.... 8)

Introducing Four Seasons Hotel Luxor

Perched on the Nile River in the south of Egypt, Luxor is one of the country’s most storied destinations and considered to be one of the world’s greatest ancient sites. Best known for its history as the ancient city of Thebes and its breathtaking Karnak and Luxor temple complexes, this impressively historic city acts as an open-air museum with some of Egypt’s finest artifacts on grand display throughout.

Set to open in 2025, Four Seasons Hotel Luxor will include 200 guest rooms and suites, each with views of the Nile River, the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens. The Hotel will be located just south of the highly acclaimed Luxor Temple, which dates back to 1400 BC.

After a day of exploring the wonders of Luxor, guests will enjoy several restaurant and bar outlets, a tranquil spa, a fitness facility, multiple pools, luxury retail, a Kids For All Seasons program and a young adults centre. For those visiting for business or to host a special event, the property will feature expansive meeting and event spaces totalling 1,300 square metres (14,000 square feet).

Well that sorts it, in either 2026/27/28 after the monolith is complected.
I will visit the many bars mention and order a Schweppes tonic Ice & slice using my own £2.40p bottle of Oxford Gin.

I used to love staying next door in the Novatel/Ibrotel, couple of great garden restaurants..Very chilled out... 8)
