The Post Office in Station Street is undergoing refurbishment and the PO Boxes have been temporarily relocated elsewhere but nobody can tell me where.
Is anyone in Luxor aware of the temporary location of the PO Boxes?

Re: Post Office Boxes
I'm sorry, but I cannot help with your question. But, if I may, I could tell you about our PO Box experience in Luxor?
When we first moved to Luxor, we had a PO Box. It was quite soon afterwards that I learnt that we didn't need to carry the key with us because the bank of boxes could just be easily dragged away from the wall to expose the wide open back!
Eventually, we gave it up because everything which was sent to us was rifled through (in Cairo?) and often, anything which had been sent was missing completely, plus the staff took it upon themselves to telephone me whenever anything arrived, and insisted that I was charged, supposedly to cover the cost of someone making the call. As usual, always "on the make".
Latterly, we would have things sent to us via DHL, whose service was excellent; prompt, private and secure.

Re: Post Office Boxes
In days gone past my mail was sent to a quite respected family on the WB, it never failed to arrive within a short distance, and never were the envelope ever tampered with.
I do remember once going to that place, which was a back entrance of the present post office and noticing a small parcel for old Sheikh Ali of the WB,.......he had been dead ten years, don't know what happened to the parcel.
