Bring the ridiculous prices down on these items to avoid having expired dates!!! Today...tomatoes 20 le a kilo. And these are street prices. Supermarkets even higher. People are doing without due to their shortage of money at the moment. Word on the street is all 'staples' (onions, potatoes etc) will rise.

Buying food has become more expensive than the UK now by far. When I was in the UK last year I went to Aldi for the first time and out of interest put things in my trolley that were the same or similar to what I would typically buy in Kheir Zaman. There was a huge difference when I converted the cost of my Aldi trolley to Egyptian prices...and Aldi won.
I know dishwasher tablets are in no way a staple product for Egyptians here and for that reason I usually bring them over from the UK where I can get 30 tablets for £2-£3 in Tesco. My supplies had run out and I had to buy my first ever box of Dishwasher tablets in Egypt for 300LE (£15) for a box of £30. Ouch. Needless to say, never again. I'll wash up the old fashioned way.
