For some people £30,000 is the price of a watch or handbag.... 8)
True.

Recently watched TV prog about Garrards .....featuring a Saudi princess who , after a private visit to the store, walked out with 6 handbags costing $175,000.

For £30,000 you could pay someone to trail around after you and tell you the time whenever you wanted....without having to take the trouble to look

I’ve never felt envious of people with the ability to spend fortunes on trivia. I can’t imagine what would give them real pleasure when anything and everything can be purchased at the flick of a piece of plastic.

As I was saying.....

As I don't fancy getting to and from various airports and sitting on a plane full of covididots for 6 hrs...
Anybody know of rich people that love Egypt ?.... 8)
I’m having difficulty in visualising a foreigner with £30,000 plus to blow on a private jet journey wanting to spend any time in the poverty- stricken, virus- riddled, police state of Egypt.

Call me old fashioned....

The rich people who love Egypt are already here. They’re called generals.
Those rich people spend their fun time in places like El Gouna. Have you seen the size of some of their little yachts?

Sitting in the sun outside the Willmington just now, perusing The Observer and the various antics and dressage
of locals and trendy Clerkenwell visitors..

Spotted this little gem which bought to mind an evening:
https://www.theguardian.com/culture/202 ... ecognition

My pal Keith had invited me & my then girlfriend Sally (a PR to famous people)
to and I thought, his play at the Almeida theatre just up the road.

Sitting in their bar around a small table opposite us, an impressive couple quaffing champagne.
Keith popped in, saying good evening to the pair and then plopping down another bottle of house wine
in front of us and winking!

Sally surreptitiously kicked, me as I vainly opened up a conversation with the pair,
the lady even offering me some champagne, I respectively declined.

A very clever show whereby, every evening the posh restaurant opposite provided dinner
for the 'on-stage cast every night......
Turns out the guy was Harold Pinter the lady Antonia Fraser,
and that I just found out he had written 'Keith's play ? 'Celebration: H Pinter c2000

And upon reading the above article, he had also adapted the screenplay for the French Lieutenant's Woman, I had a house just outside Lyme Regis when they filmed it. 'Pretty surreal when out shopping in lyme.

I still wonder if Keith thought I knew Pinter and partner.... 8)

Saturday lounging outside The Eagle up pops Simona, ('fag-ash Lil)
Now this is a rarely seen London sight, quite country Appleby calls.
They must be 'pikeys/pc: travellers from Kings Cross.... 8)
Ps: Notice, no car park opposite.....

As we enter a 2nd lockdown presumably, looks like I will have to buy a 'dumb-phone just to get a drink.

I've now decided it would be safer, less boring and far healthier for me in Luxor than here.
Jesus 'who would want to run a country ?

It's getting there is the problem, I need a hazmat suit.
They say Antartica is covid free, but who cares. Do eskimos have bars ? .... 8)

There are no eskimo's in Antartica but plenty of Brits and Americans with booze no doubt but would you want to be cooped up with them?
