Saturday again, done the shopping trip...
I managed to access a Boris Bike and cycled to the nearest garden center over in Camden, forget CV19,
I nearly died..upon arrival the queue was 30 long, 's*d that, I only wanted some herbs..
But back ? 'it's mainly all downhill, zooming past the wonderful St Pancras Hotel....
15693
Roads are mainly empty, my main danger seemed to include joggers & other cyclists,
Oh! and the dreaded Pentonville Rd hill..Oh! and electric cars, bu**ers creep up on you....

Back in the village and to The Quality Chop Hse, nice orderly sunny situated queue of just three.
Radishes, couple of ripe smelly cheeses, pork chop, then off to the just reopened Gail's posh
artisan bakery for an olive baguette.

Into my Co-op for some cheap spanish wines, strong ales, weekend Guardian and rolling tobacco.
All done within 2 hours, radio 4 is on just to remind me it's Saturday...

So, I off to the balcony to do some gardening, bloody garden center, I'll buy online, mind you I await
an Amazon delivery today of a fraudster's autobiography who once 'tried to have me over..'as if ?.... 8)

Ps: If it's a good read I'll let you know, 'pound to a penny I'm not mentioned ha!
Pss: Here's a good read in the wekkend.

I know that place quite well, very expensive for what it is. Avoid buying on line, they usually send crap half dead plants if you're not one of their members. Being that you are in London, the very best place to go to is Crews Hill, just inside the travel zone, and I suspect you have one of those passes, it costs you,...nowght, train out of St Panras.

The whole place is like garden centres on acid, worth a day out just for the laugh. The best centre of them all is the one on the opposite side from the rail station. When I go there I take a small bag and a very sharp Stanley blade,....that's all you need. Avoid the week-end especially in COVID 19 period, they're all open throughout the week.

P.S. - "Spanish wine",......sherry and port yes,.........wine really ?

Five & half months since returning to misty Avalon our sceptered isle.
My lifestyle here has changed very little in and out of lockdown.
Social distancing should be made mandatory and forever.imho.

Simona has gone to Streatham for the weekend and she's now unemployed. duh ?

Pleasant down the Eagle today, chatting with chef's and bar staff supping a vg bloody mary.
Whilst observing fit female cyclists struggling up toward me from the Thames & Blackfriars..
I'm going to get an electric scooter they are hilarious and fast.

Can't see me even thinking of returning to the 'old adobe hacienda until Xmas,
Nick reckons he can do Australia first then drop in on me for Xmas, again..
It's going to be like groundhog day except 12 months later..
15710

Anyway having trained Sim to cut my hair saving money, all we have to do now it try to get fit!
Nick has a new girlfriend Johnny, she's a drummer, she's hardcore, only slightly nuts as they all are. Sim's an ex..
She also lives in Clerkenwell over in Leather Lane market..

So tara' Wimbledon ladies day Ginny Wade, I used to live in Wimbledon once, bottom of the hill... 8)

Yes! A4 I can see what you mean, known as living proof... I think you could well be correct, by the last posters remark. Does nt make people want to post or in fact join. I gather from the past people are not willing to express opinions. To me opinions are a persons thoughts and they should be respected right or wrong, if people cannot except the opinions of others it should be them receiving "If Only" I miss our stimulating get togethers in Luxor and your interesting past history not to mention your vast knowledge of places around the Country, most people will not know of many of these places, has I didn't until you told me all about them. Before leaving Luxor we did manage to get around a few, so I am forever grateful to you.

Vic's was used as Stings bar called JD's in Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels.
We had some pretty mental parties in there..... 8)

Glad you are still having fun in the old manor. Life is returning to normal here in our little Canton. Next Tuesday it's Nation Day holiday with all the French partying...or not.
Next Saturday we are having a BBQ and open air film night at a nearby old converted Forge. Inventively named "The Forge".
Take care folks.

To prove the point here's me after trying twice to blow-up a sunken fishing boat
close to the Firth of Forth rail bridge in Queensferry, they stopped the trains.

We blew it up.... 8)

I totally agree with you MT, if you get to a situation where people can not give an opinion whether it be right or wrong is what a forum is all about, it's what we call debate. When this stops, you get a one dominant person, who visits a such forum each and every hour of the day to force their opinion welcomed or not, what their private lives are like I shudder to think.

It is easy to discover why so many once fantastic forums die, what I always believe is that where you have a 'like' button, there should always have a 'dislike' button, so that where you get 'bar flies', they will always hit the 'like' . However without the 'dislike' button, serious members can not express their distaste, for certain comments, gradually once important members disappear from a forum,......God forbid it don't happen here. :wi.

I always enjoy the Doctor's comments whether he's in London or back home in Luxor, and of course Dusak, both who tell of real life there, whether good or bad, as for those who have a vast knowledge of Luxor and Egypt they seems to be, like myself, busy elsewhere, at the moment. :wi :py :wi .

Not too busy to appear with your usual load of drivel. Perhaps you could put your “vast knowledge of Luxor and Egypt” to better use.

You were wasted as a West Bank roadsweeper.

Just heard of 6 brits flying into Hurgharda 1st August £45 quid one way..
Personally I wouldn't go that soon even if they were paying me, a £100 quid... 8)

What airline would that be? And from where?..

I know EasyJet are not flying from U.K. until September at the earliest.....but have heard rumours of flights from some European airports.

Possibly the same mob that were salivating on one Hurghada social site about their EasyJet August flight to Hurghada.

Sadly ( for them) EasyJet have now cancelled all their August flights to Egypt.

They can spend the next few weeks trying to get their money back.

I was sent to Nick's on wednesday by an Uber, the driver said "is it ok to speak to his sister ?
'No problem, during the whole trip he spoke to her, upon exiting I said "Your from French Guiana.
He laughed 'how could you tell ? moi "je parle français"
