Going to be very hot in Luxor for the next few days. Pity those who are doing Ramadan.

It is completely silent out there. No car horns, only birds singing. Usually the non fasting children will be playing in the streets while the adults are resting, but even though they have closed the schools because of the heat, I have not seen a child all day.

However if the locals carry on polluting it then how much longer will The Nile serve the people of Egypt?

Especially when all the folks upstream demand a bigger share.

I have always lived close to a large body of water, river or stream, and one thing I have learned is that the father upstream you live, the cleaner the water.

This is brilliant, so simple...

The article is here,

Well worth a read.. it collects 5000 lb of trash every day.. It will probably be working overtime in Egypt, but I feel they should invest in a few of these. 8)

Even here in Cyprus we have overnight lost our rainy weather ( the most rain ever recorded during Winter months) the temperature yesterday and forcast for the next 3 days have reached 41C after 12 noon. Its 28C now, 7.30am so another day for us around the pool. I have been told though that temps in Luxor are between 45 and 50C, unbearable phew.
