War Zone?

Post by hatusu » Tue Sep 25, 2018 9:41 am

Just been shopping in the village. It looks like a War Zone. Every single shop on one side of the street had rubble and debris piled up high round it . It looked like a bomb had gone off. No-one working on it anywhere though. Dont know what on earth the people on the tourist buses think as they go past.

If they are from the UK they probably think.... 'just like home. Council comes along and digs a ruddy great hole then leaves it. Then when it is filled in and tarmacked over along comes the gas company and digs it all up again. Then.....along comes the electric company. Then along comes the water company..... Then, just when all is looking good and safe again we have a bit of a freeze and end up with potholes almost bigger than the original holes that were dug. '

Are they contemplating laying gas lines in a similar way they did in Luxor City a couple of years ago? Or is it to stop people using the pavements and start using the roads?

That rung a bell in me, we did the wrap party for The War Zone.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0141974/?ref_=nv_sr_1

A pretty weird film directed by Tim Roth, he was big on the Colombian 'marching-powder.
Ray didn't come after, he bought himself a Jaguar XJS and went to Bournemouth.
Kate Ashfield had been a local EC1 waitress/actress.
And the film ? well it was pretty dark, all about family sexual abuse, but the wrap-party was cool, as usual.... 8)
Ps: Beautifully filmed by a pal Seamus McGarvey..
