Visa Again.....

Post by Who2 » Wed Apr 05, 2017 11:50 am

Went for my visa today.
Forget all this 'codswallop about over 65...
He said "contracto ? I said "lah, I own my own house" he "electricity bills ?

So if you rent take your renting contract, if you own take electricity bills, water bills or purchase contract.
(So long as your name is on them)
Now with all these posts on visas, how come no 'bright spark or any 'bright spark for that matter, never mentioned that.

So it's back again tomorrow, cheers 'bright sparks!..... 8)
Ps: I loathe going over to the 'dark-side....

Standard procedure.

You're not paying enough attention to the numerous posts on sites related specifically to visa issues.

Since...forever

No body mentioned that before.

As I said.....you need to expand your reading sources

And what prat mention the no visa @ 65 rule.

You're confused Over 60's can overstay their tourist visa without being fined when they leave. Otherwise, they're in the same boat as everyone else. You've been listening to fake news

That's probably true. Always wise to have your name on utilities... .

Nooooo....that was all to do with late leaving fines and the fact that you would probably not be hassled for not having a visa if you were only here for a limited time. i.e. you behaved like a tourist - coming and going .

Under the strict law you require a visa, at any age.

As Who2 has discovered.

Why does everyone keep insisting there is no visa for over 60's??
The rule has been there forever .......there should be no fines on exiting for over 60's. However.....sometimes you have to convince the man in the passport box that that is the case and you have to waste time popping in for a chat with the General.

Everyone needs a visa or a resident stamp. Even my seventy year old mother. She did let it lapse for a few years and chose to pay fines on exit due to the problems in the passport office.......however....she was then unable to travel, stay in hotels, use hospitals or rob a bank as she'd have been unable to hire a lawyer due to not having a visa.

During the last ten years I have never been asked for my apartment lease, ownershio or utility bill when renewing my 12 month residency and I have applied every year so Who 2 is right.

This time (one week ago) it changed. Based on last week's experience now to get residency stamp(only six months now) you need to take:

1.Your passport
2. 2 copies of passport
3.A copy of your utility bill or rental contract or ownership contract
4. 2 copies of your airport entry visa from your passport
5. Passport size photo
6. Completed application form
and if you want an exit visa as well the completed exit visa application form

The passport Clerk will give you 3 forms (invoices) to take to the cashier and you pay the cashier 1135le

Return to passport clerk with the cashier's receipt and you will get your residency and exit visas the same day (or the next day)

If you do not have an airport entry visa but just entry visas you will need 2 copies of the last entry visa in additon to above (except 4). The Passport Clerk will retain all the above (except your passport)and will tell you to wait for the Security Office to contact you and check you out before the Residency is granted. Then return to Passport Office for the stamps to be entered into your passport. It cant take upto a month (sometime longer)

Not sure if I have left anything out

I understand what an airport entry visa is but what is an entry visa? Do you mean the stamp you get when you return on a multiple entry visa?

I had to go with my tenant when her visa was due. A lot of headless chicken runarounds all day. She finally got it one minute before closing. I did post on my last visit to the visa office that I needed to take copies of my ownership papers with me, but did not need any utility bills. As you stated on a number of occasions that you have now sold your gaff for a quid, then you could have problems, unless of course it was a **** take.
Life is your's to do with as you wish- do not let other's try to control it for you. Count Dusak- 1345.
