Egypt ready to host Miss Eco 2016
| Miss Eco 2016, News | 05 February 2016
A beauty contest aiming to find an ambassador for environmental causes was born last year and is taking its challenge very seriously: Miss Eco. Its 2nd edition will take place in Egypt, from March 27th to April 15th, when the new title holder will be crowned.
Around 60 beautiful environmental ambassadors from all 5 cotinentes will be taken on a tour to unfold the mysteries of Egypt, a nation full of history, colors and culture. They will visit the pyramids, historic Alexandria, stunning Gouna Hurghada, beautiful Luxor and vibrant and exciting Cairo, where the big final will take place.
During these 3 weeks, not only the candidates will get to see the wonders of Egypt, but they will also participate in a series of environment related activities, such as cleaning up campaigns, cycling and participating in lectures.
The pageant is supported by Egypt’s government and the United Nations, which sees in it a serious tool to promote environment awarness.
Miss Eco 2016 will win a USD 10.000 cash prize and will receive sash and crown from the hands of Slovenia’s Patricia Peklar, the 2015 winner.
“We are very proud of our first Miss Eco and her work and to see our event growing so much in just two years”, said the event organizor and director Amaal Rezk.

Re: Miss World in Luxor ?
I think 'miss' is the operable word. Always found the whole thing farcical and demeaning to women. ''What do you want to do as a career Mandy from Ireland?'' ''I want to help all the poor black people in the world.''

Re: Miss World in Luxor ?
I'm pretty certain that a Mr. or Mrs. or even a Ms. expat would go down well in Luxor. I'm also pretty certain that it would affect the tourist numbers as well.
I would be up for it.

It certainly would affect tourist numbers.
They'd probably drop close to zero.

Re: Miss World in Luxor ?
When a potential male tourist looks at this photo, he thinks, "Yeah, by time I get there they will all be gone." But you know what the potential female tourist will think....

They've got it all backwards if they want the tourists to "return"....They've got to swap the genders if they want to revive the success of the 2000s.
Although Miss Moldova is so sickly looking they may have just borrowed her from a nearby tomb and slapped some lipstick on the mummy.

I think she's quite pretty, certainly got less make up on than the average Egyptian bride.
Miss Mauritius is my favorite.

I've seen lots of photographs of these girls, in various states of dress, around Luxor. What seems to have passed me by are any interviews or comments about their Eco status.

I think Ms. Egypt in the middle is a likely winner, only got it wrong the once, mainly as I only watched it once.
