Metropolitan landing
The Metropolitan landing is disconnected from the Corniche. Really great when you are dropped of by motorboat in the dark and you have to do some really dangerous climbing over the stones.

Last I heard was that no tourists were allowed on boats after dark except the main ferry crossing.

Re: Metropolitan landing
But it's not an official landing, it is a docking area for feluccas etc. The landing ramp near the ferry is much better, although a little slippery to walk up at the moment.
I might agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong!

We don't make it easy for East Bankers coming over to the bright side even harding when returning..QED…
Ps: To be honest it would cost very little and take little time to rectify and would be a benefit to all.
No doubt it is on the Governors todo list.

Re: Metropolitan landing
If I remember right, the landings for boats were discussed at the last meeting and it was explained how it was easy to slip or have an accident, I believe this was to be looked at.

Re: Metropolitan landing
The only 'legality' I've heard about this, is that the motorboats must operate only from the ferry, directly going to the west bank landing stages.
But I doubt that there is any problem going anywhere in a boat at night, due to the lack of river police at that time.

Re: Metropolitan landing
I think the reason that tourists were not allowed on the boats after dark was less to do with them landing flat on their face but more to do with them spending time on their backs.

No doubt it is on the Governors todo list.
In the first committee meeting it was said that Luxor Governorate can not do anything about this. 'Cairo has to decide'.
