Are you living in Egypt ?
If So: it's going to get hot, really hot...
So, Do you have a water tank on your roof ?
Do You; have a house cooling system other than A/C ?
If Not Why not: then you better start thinking because without electricity your cooling system is f***ed and so will you be.
Think Ahead! it will only get worse, get with the ancients or bugger off back to Morecambe,
This is Egypt it gets HOT! learn to live with it or die, A/c wont help you without water or wind, get on the bus or get on the bus to Margate....
Ps: if you don't have a well a pump natural a/c then you should never have left blighty because for me you are all-ready dead!
Pss: and this is especially for you lot on the east bank in those stupid designed tourist flats, heat you don't know the meaning of heat....wait!

Our Good Friend H20 and it's thermal capacity should be used in abundance on the walls and floor, close the doors, wait a little while for the evaporation,
and then enter said room and enjoy the cool of the indoors... You may want to be facing North East or West, depending on the time of day...

Life without A/C Part one.. :cg

Capture the Clefty Doctor, and have him follow you around the house with a large fan of Ostrich feathers for a few days as payment for the Crayfish traps..

I have a feeling You will be just fine though Doctor.. :tk

Yes, I had three power cuts here in Karnak yesterday and yes I have a stupidly designed flat on the EB. Yes it was uncomfortable and yes I did sweat profusely and yes I could of used the pool to cool off but its empty cos I can't be arsed filling it. But the heat didn't kill me, I survived it at 60, no big deal. Just had a shower when it came back on. As for sheep to the slaughter, I agree as it would lesson all the bleating when it does go off. Plasma TV's with connected surround sound systems? What bright spark leave such things plugged in when experiencing a power cut knowing a possible surge will follow a reboot?

Fear not people I have a cunning and fool proof plan that NEVER fails me.... :up

I shall drive to Luxor in my 7th Generation Honda Accord.
Once I arrive, I shall park my car outside the Winter Palace hotel, nip out into the gardens and drag one of the hosepipes out to my car and proceed to wash it meticulously.

I generally find, just as I wipe the last of the watermarks off the car with my Chamois leather, and stand back to admire my handywork, while flicking said chamois leather like I am impersonating the whip sound from Rawhide, the heavens will open, thus negating all my good work, but a nice long downpour for you Luxorians... Never fails... :cg

The most expensive part of my house excluding my Ariston cooker is my floor.
Once they were all compacted mud up and down different levels, even the stairs.
I chatted up the west bank bridge builders and they arrived with a few trucks of sand stone limestone rocks 7 of them in all.
The gaffer showed a size with his hands next minute they have cut the shape out of a lump of rock. And the 'Mouder the gaffer, has inserted a 1foot square 6 inch deep piece of floor. Once they started they covered every thing he even asked me if I fancied a pool in my salon. £2k two grand and worth every penny it took them 3 days non stop. Why ?
I can fill it full of water, it turns the floor into a fridge it's something you learnt in science, I should have listened more...
