Fit to Fly test

Post by Loveluxor »

Hi

Can someone please tell me where, in Luxor, I can get the fit to fly test needed within 48 hours of flight back to the UK. Also the cost. Thanks.

Besr in mind it’s not 48 hours,..it’s day of departure or either of preceding 2 days…..and Antigen (lateral flow) will suffice.

There’s a Test Centre along Village Road, Hurghada ( see map).

Take your passport and flight details. Takes about 40 mins for antigen test. 480EGP

Hi
The clinic on tv street is near to the Shady hotel.
If you look up you will see red signs these are in Arabic. The sign has a yellow heart on it
The clinic is on the third floor
We have been quoted 500le for the lateral flow test as required
Once inside looks clean and professional
Most of the private clinics in Luxor are offering the service
This one is closer and the best price we have been quoted
Hope this helps

Hi Carrie
Your friend most likely had the PCR test which is more expensive.
That was the test what was previously required to return to the UK
You can now just have the lateral.flow test as per government requirements at present

Or they might have added something for 2 return trips to the WB!

Yes it was the PCR test Newcastle, I can't keep up with all these new tests. I have decided to stay put.

If you’re fully vaccinated, the usual NHS certificate will do.

Incidentally, there are rumours that the LFT to return may soon be scrapped.

We had PCR tests before flying out of Egypt on the 10th of December. Two young blokes came to our flat at 8pm to do it, and we received emails at 07.30 the following morning to say that we were OK. The cost was 1900LE for the two.
