Sad news. "Old" Mr Aboudi as he was known, has died. He was such a lovely gentleman, always kind and always smiling. He will be sadly missed. It was such a pleasure to venture into Aboudi Bookshop and stay for hours browsing the collections. Condolences to his family. RIP

Agreed, a true Egyptian gentleman! We bought our flats from him back in 2005, and we had to meet at his old home which was just around the corner. His wife was the perfect hostess. I well remember being impressed by the opulence of his reception room, with 34 seats!
He'll certainly be missed, and our condolences are heartfelt for his family.

I replied on this yesterday but it seems to have disappeared! Trying again.
Moonstone would you please pass on our condolences to the family next time you visit the shop. We used to enjoy our group browsing, chats and purchases in the past.

Lovely man could talk for hours, he had a nice jeep years ago.rip..
I bought many an 'tome from his old shop, still have them..
Ps: Later in life, those 6 monthly visits to him, the visa office & hotel bar opposite..
