Just got back, sorry for some reason or other, I did not complete. On the route to the airport, our arrival being delayed by the driver having to pop the hood and fill up with water. I was going to say how clean and tidy everything is and how the decor and surrounds are maintained to a good standard. It was quite eye opening compared to most of the City.

Lot easier to keep clean these days.

I took more notice this time while passing through, it really is a nice building. My only gripe, there were very few shops open for refreshments etc.

Pity.

If their catering establishments are anything like Hurghada's, the exorbitant cost of everything would have given you plenty to moan about

I know it may be quite difficult to believe these days, but long before you arrived in Luxor MT, there was a public park right in the centre of Luxor even with railings all around, and closed at sun set. Up until recently there were a number of green open spaces., though I'm sure you remember those, where both tourist and locals could enjoy without hassle.

I am certain that in ancient times, (though I'm sure either of the two resident members on here, will come up with evidence to prove me wrong) either side of the Avenue of Sphinx would have had agricultural elements, such as grass and trees, that are certainly lacking today. When we think as to how little it would cost to perform and maintain such a project, you can begin to understand that the future of international tourism to Luxor is really NOT that important.

P.S.- By the way, being it is not possible to send you a P.M., would you be so kind as to leave your e-mail address with one of our mutual friends in Luxor, should you vacate there before my return.
