Milad Jewellery Repair

Post by hatusu »

the fastener on my gold chain had broken and Id nearly lost my gold pendant twice. While B was waiting to have treatment in the dentist's surgery in Cleopatra St (with what looked like a long wait) I decided to nip out to the nearest jeweller's in the souk to have it repaired. Oh yes, he could certainly do the job - 285LE he reckoned (this is a tiny gold circle we're talking about half a centimeter circle max!). I told him it was ridiculous and walked out. OK he said, because you live here, 200LE. I carried on walking with him following me every step of the way - "Ok Ok what you want to pay?" I carried on walking to where I should have gone in the first place where he repaired it immediately putting a new fastener on, cleaned both the chain and the pendant, and charged me 50LE. Milad is down a little alley opposite Hamees behind Luxor Temple.
