JJ’s Bar & Restaurant will re open on Saturday 27th at 1730hrs - that’s this Saturday folks.

After 40 days of spraying furniture in the open street next to a JJ’s Bar & Restaurant, Sayed Ahmed El Nasser also known as Mr Fish has finally been stopped and moved his equipment out. JJ’s was forced to close because of the toxic fumes from the spraying and remained closed for 26 days because of this man. Hopefully he will not repeat this attack on the tourist industry again. The damage that this man has caused is irreversible with many of our friends and visitors cancelling or suspending their holidays because of our closure. We would at this point like to thank all our family, friends and customers who supported us over the last month and the hundreds of e-mails and messages of support we received from Egypt, Europe and in fact the world. The support has been incredible and the disgust shown towards this man unanimous. Many of the people we know or who have been in touch have made reports to the local government here in Luxor or have been in touch with tour companies and or embassies. We have also been informed that Sayed Ahmed El Nasser aka Mr Fish is already well known, and not for good reasons, in Europe because of YouTube and facebook.
Once again thank you all for your kind words and support.

Well done!!! This is the first good result from the meeting with the Governor, lets hope the rest of the stuff brought up gets dealt with as quickly as this did.

Yes Mr Fish is very well known here.

Most probably Yildez. He drives a taxi and is parked up outside the telecom Egypt place in between the Isis and Nile palace most of the time.

Attended JJ's they had music excellent stuff, unfortunately there was also football on the TV :st the place was empty (apart from one elderly lady and her son 8) ) :| the vodka smelt of lager but not the worst I have tasted. Would not recommend the chicken curry :sk However would go again preferably in a large group :py

Also known as the Irish bar.
It is what it is.

Are you talking about the same JJ's in Karnak? Have never known them to have football on there (they don't like it) nor heard it called the Irish Bar and their chicken curry was lovely when I had it. :o

Not in Karnak, its opposite the Steinberger sort of...OK start agian strange bar side street off the main road along from tesco's obviously stealing the good name and reputation off the Karnak jj's (must inform tourist police immediately :o )

but still would not trust the chicken curry :sk ... always has a hint of horse.. or camel. I can never tell :ni:

With all the research you did before your evening out...

So it is NOT the bar from this thread with its excellent kitchen that you are criticising.

We all drop the odd clanger at times, with the exception of me of course. :D Now its common knowledge that the wrong place was highlighted I'm sure no harm was done and not to many curries were discarded, although why anyone would want to eat a curry anywhere else than the Taste of India is beyond me, unless its the well priced Stella :br

All that research and accidentally found a place that played decent music (go figure) :P other than McDonalds which also plays some good tunes. ( lol... yes we hit McDonalds twice :eat).

Apologies to JJ's Karnak and JJ's frock shop  Will be back at the end of March and will make a concerted effort to get there :wi (probably will end up in Aswan :?)

Personally I think any opportunity to elevate one's self to greater heights should be grabbed by the horns. And one that does warrant a fanfare.
