"The King And Thai" has now moved to its new location at "Oasis" on St Joesph Hotel Street near to "A Taste Of India", evenings only from 5.30pm. "The Fortune Cookie" continues its Chinese menu daily from noon.
"Oasis Cafe" operates for lunch only until 4.00pm.

I remember going to a Thai Restaurant for New Years Eve 2008 the best one supposedly in Norwich, called the Sugar Hut, sat there all night with three courses of food in front of me waiting for the staff to take it back, never come across flavoured water and c--p food in all my life, walked out of the restaurant thinking only 12 month for another New Years Eve, but next year will be my choice. Needless to say I cannot stand Thai Food, just find it an excuse for proper nourishing food that both fills and satisfy's.

Bombay, having enjoyed a wonderful meal at your Indian restaurant last December, I'm really looking forward to eating in your Thai restaurant - in fact my mouth is watering already!!!! Only 6 weeks and I'll be there, knocking on the door!! :eat :eat :eat

I am afraid Thai Food is not for me Bombay! i prefer food with more substance, and a little less watery, but on saying that many people like it. Its just not for me!

Although l haven't been to the king and Thai so don't know what is on their menu you must have been very unlucky with your choice. There are a lot of Thai dishes with 'substance' not all the dishes are watery.

What were the opening hours for Oasis? Used to venture out daily between 4pm-5pm every day for coffee and it was always locked up and in darkness.
Have you just re-opened Bombay? Was there from 18th til 29th October and was bit disappointed that I didn't get chance to enjoy a coffee there.
Or was I just unlucky and wandering about at the wrong time?

I did actually read and understand Bombay's post Hepzibah!
Some evenings I walked back past the place at 6/6.30pm and it was still in darkness!
Hence my reason for asking if it had just opened/re-opened.

So sorry. Please excuse me for yet again trying to be helpful. I had just earlier read through this thread and remembered that Bombay had put that the Oasis was open for lunch and closed at 4pm.

So perhaps you did not read and understand Bombay's post afterall!
If you were walking past it and expecting it to be open at 6/6-30pm they had not doubt been shut for business for at least 2 hours!

edit: If I have got this wrong and misunderstood everything then I most sincerely apologise.

I'm not being sarcastic Hepzibah. He states he's open at 5.30pm.I didn't see the place open at 6/6.30pm and by my reckonings it should've been opened!
So that's reason I'm asking if it has re-opened since my visit.

I thought it was obvious these are the new hours, due to the new location of K&T, hence his post, sah, Bombay? Therefore, wasn't open at these hours in October. :roll2:

I think you may well be right Winged Isis.

It wasn't until I'd switched my computer off last night (well this morning really) that it occured to me that the dates of the posts, not least Bombay's giving the new opening times, could be relevent. I have just checked, and Bombay gave us this information on 8th November!

I had hoped that Bombay might have clarified this confusion by now but alas he hasn't so far, which is a shame in my opinion.

"The King And Thai" is open from 5.30pm except Saturdays "Oasis" is open until 4pm with new menu except Sat when it closes at 10pm. So no Thai on Saturdays no Oasis after 4pm apart from Saturdays.
