Smileys

Post by Chocolate Eclair » Wed Dec 14, 2011 5:43 pm

Mr and Mrs Choccy Eclair, just had a good value meal at Smileys, very nice and very filling, to top a good meal up found that one of the co owners was from Barnsley, and we lived at Wombwell for a few years following leaving Sheffield. It was nice to blah blah blah about folk we jointly knew and places we used to haunt.. anyway to all well worth a visit, the place was spotless amd neat and tidy... will be revisiting again soon!!!

Never gave it a look to be honest with you Brian, but the place is spotlessly clean, and the value is excellent, I really hope the two ladies get plenty of customers, they deserve it..

"one of the co owners"???

Are these two waitresses the same ones who left Tutti Frutti last week?

Yes we realised that about the two ladies but my attitude was if they were not happy with what they were doing then move on! We did try Tutties a few times but got sick of the prices to be honest.. But fancy 2 English Ladies having a Coffee Shop that sells food and drinks to local and tourists alike at the same price!!! Now theres a thing in the learning!!! The Coffee Shop is just down the side of the passport office on the left hand side past Aboudy's book shop

Mr and Mrs Choc Eclair, have no problems with people moving around for work its non of our business what people do, I may have made a mistake by saying the 2 ladies were co-owners but that is what I have been led to believe, so if that is the case I apologise to the rightful owner. Sami makes fab Cappuchino's though

Does Naggar Bakry no longer own Smileys then?

Sometimes I wonder if there is a single restaurant or sleeping establishment in Luxor where the owners don't form the focus of marketing efforts as well as judgment of quality of said establishments. Egos seems to come before food or amenities.

The two ladies (Lorraine and Judy) are not owners but have made an arrangement with the owner whereby they run the premises as a cafe during the day and he continues to run it as a restaurant in the evenings. Therefore they are only there until about 5pm. Very nice though-good food, varied menu, nice atmosphere and very reasonable prices. Love it!
