"Ginger Biccies!" was the only thing guaranteed to bring my old whippet back - until he popped his clogs at 18 years and 2 months old. :up

Talking of cats....someone sent me this :

"Isn't it ironic that my girlfriend has got 6 cats and the one that hasn't brought a bird in the house is the Ginger one?"

I think it's a joke...but someone will have to explain it to me ;) .

Last week Erica caught her first bird from a flying leap off the top of the shed. Yesterday Derick took his time, waiting hidden in the undergrowth until a fledgling stopped off for a drink of water from their watering hole. Downed it in one. Hamsa sees birds, but being bird brained, hasn't a clue what they are or what he is supposed to do.

It is amazing just how many birds the average cat will kill per year. :( mine was a murdering little sod, but she has slowed down a bit with age (she is nearly 22 now)

Update on my Josef Mengele experiment....

Whilst away the 'pride grew to another 3 cats.
But sad to say 'Nick the Tick is no more, gone but not forgotten a great Cat amongst cats.

14454
Nick the Tick in his youth.

Turns out whist away, Nick got the blood lust by eating three household bunny rabbits and one of his very own kittens.
My kindly house-sitters informed me upon my return 'her next door Aida went mad one day, 'steamed in all 'steamed up and snatched poor Nick away!
Only to go and 'top him, She Aida (the killer) can kill anything without a whim.

So there's a slight abatement in my experiment until another alfa male can grow and take control of approximately 7 or 10 white females,
not an easy achievement in the Cat world...... 8)
Ps: Who in their right mind would want more than one wife ? ...'f*****nutters..
Pss: I once knew a Lion called Christian.

It's unusual for a domestic tomcat to kill another grown cat...unless a territorial dispute gets out of hand.

They can be aggressive to kittens, especially those fathered by another cat (lions and other big cats do the same) but, even though they are not noted for fatherly affection, it's rare (but not unknown) for a tomcat to kill one of its own offspring.

Female cats will occasionally kill one or more of their own kittens if stressed, unable to feed them etc.

Generally speaking, if you've got a group of breeding cats, it's a good idea to keep the toms away from the nursing females. They are genetically programmed to destroy the litters as it will bring the female into breeding condition again.

Or better still, round them up one at a time and visit ACE, free snips for orphans. :up Its cruel to just let them keep breading, unless your after a nice white fur jacket for winter, then its OK.
