Why is Curry so popular ? It originated to disguise the decomposing meat
"est-ce que tu comprends?"…

A Scottish Sunday "tabloid"once did an article on this.
Their intention was to "expose"the many(ethnic) restaurants in Scotland that were using spices,herbs,etc to disguise the fact that the meat used in their curries was "off."The one's who were ripping off their customers.
Guess what?
They discovered that in almost all restaurants,the meat was of top quality,fresh and totally fit for human consumption.
They had to re-think the point of the article.

So...they re-named it!
"The best curry in Scotland"They gave recommendations,high praise,etc.

The Doc is right, the herbs and curry protect the meat, ( curing and salting does the same thing ) but in the West, we would not tolerate that being served to us, and why should we. But where necessary..

I really enjoyed the "carry our cuisine" in Glasgow when I lived there.. Deep fried everything...

As for "deep fried?"A friend's mum once said to me that no-one makes anything look more appetising than a drunk man "devouring"a fish supper!

Brick Lane there is no where else, Glasgow in not the centre of the Universe, trust me….

Ps: 'Ruby Murray is also another East End London term, but pop out for a 'Ruby anytime and when you have tried the rest come to E1 and try the best….

I notice Endersly St has about 8 restaurants, 4 being Asian or Indian, whilst on the other hand Brick Lane probably has over 200..

The Sparkbrook end of Birmingham has a very good selection. The main road (A38) out of Worcester towards my house has 11, but of varying qualities.
