Smoking Garlic!

As you do 'gezzers pass by flogging stuff, horse and cart job, now you don't know what they are flogging but more often than not it's a deal, it's a steal.
Yesterday heard the call and had time to 'waylay said seller of toomb, bought 5 kilos for £3 quid, a steal I gave half to 'her next door and made fresh garlic soup to mix in with last weeks fish soup.
So! now got the old smoker out 'hickory chips from fridge and peeling fresh young huge bulbs of Garlic.
The rest are hanging up in the kitchen yard and the place smells delicious.Plus it wards off the 'evil-eye.
Ive smoked these bulbs for 2 hours using hickory chips, the green garlic leaves and some cafhor, I first oiled then added sea salt and smoked paprika.
You can eat them raw, make smoked garlic butter to top your steaks, pickle them in white wine, confit them in butter, your minds the limit.
Smoker & Garlic below..easy peasy…. :cool:

I have never been able to stand the smell or taste of garlic. Has been banned from every home I've lived in. And the smell on a persons breath when they have been eating it the following day :sk must be as nauseating as a smokers breath is to them if they are non smokers, just to save it being mentioned. :cg

Ah Ha! a man who doesn't understand the attributes of garlic, it doesn't have to smell or taste I had a 'pinnoir girlfriend in paris she stank of the stuff 'but what the hell when in rome, I called her 'dobbin she wore furry boots…. :cool:

I prefer to smoke garlic in its skin. No point in peeling it.

L O V E Garlic (particularly elephant garlic) - DEE - LICIOUS. Bake it over the fire in little clay pots :) To die for......

Tonights gastro feast is 8 day aged dried cured steak avec the 'smoked garlic butter with Heston's 'thrice cooked chips with parmesan & onion baked beans, crusty bread and red wine…
Strawberry coulis and vanilla ice cream…. :cool:

Listening to Gardeners Question Time and they were talking about a moss garden this is a bog garden and providing some of the best food I have ever had the pleasure of tasting, the black faced lamb is 'to die for.
