The History of Africa

Post by newcastle »

The BBC is running a 9 part series on this subject.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/n3ct3gqn

It's on BBC World..and available in Egypt. Presumably any missed episodes can be viewed on iPlayer (not in Egypt of course)

The first and second programmes on the origins of civilisation were interesting and the third (15th July) will deal with Egypt's rise as one of the world's great empires. The times of broadcasts can be ascertained via the above link.

Zeinab is not one of my favourite reporters but I suppose her backgound as a Sudanese-British Arabic speaker gives her a certain rapport with the people she talks to.
