Many people (including myself) actually prefer to use Windows 7 as opposed to Windows 10, however after January 14th 2020 Microsoft will stop providing support and security updates for Win 7. This does not mean that your PC will not work after that date, just that it could become more vulnerable to virus attacks as the software is not being updated. Best advice to keep it protected for some time after that date is to make sure that you have uploaded all the latest updates in the last week or so before they withdraw support.
