Back in the last century if I got a wolf whistle walking past a building site Id walk on with a spring in my step and a smile on my face. (Very non-PC I know.......)

You must be joking!!

I’d hope the police would treat with contempt - and possibly pursue them for wasting police time - anyone inclined to dial 999 in such situations.

Hatusu, I think exactly the same.

I doubt either of us would want to encourage 'sexual harassment' but women who worry about a wolf whistle have clearly never had that feeling you describe.
