Couple commit suicide to explore ‘what happens after death’

Post by DJKeefy »

Couple in Egypt commit suicide to explore ‘what happens after death’.

An Irish woman and her Egyptian husband committed suicide, by drowning themselves in a swimming pool in a villa in Hurghada on the Red Sea coast in Egypt.

Apparently, the couple sought to discover the other world and know what happens after death.

Major General Hossam Kamal, director of the Red Sea Security, received a report that an Egyptian citizen and his Irish wife were found dead in a swimming pool in a villa owned by their friend and the bodies were taken to the morgue in Hurghada General Hospital.

Investigations showed that the feet and arms of the Egyptian man and his Irish wife arms were tied. Initially, security personnel susupected that the incident was a criminal act, but there was nothing stolen from the villa or traces of any other people in the vicinity. The fingerprints taken from the villa confirmed to have belonged to the dead couple and no other fingerprints were found.

*** Video recording ***

The security services found a video recorded by the couple confessing their desire to commit suicide in order to see the other world and what was happening there.

It turns out that the Egyptian husband, Peter George Boutros, 43, a computer programmer and his 60-year-old Irish wife Jennifer Marie, were wearing diving suits and heavy chains used in weight lifting wrapped around their necks,.

A camera installed on a stand in the middle of the swimming pool had a complete video of the suicide.

Investigations also revealed a computer in the hall of the villa containing a video of them admitting their intention to commit suicide and their desire to know what happens after death, and also a message was found with the below text:

“Sweetheart, this is our last night in this world, and tomorrow we will become angels in heaven. Our spirits are not happy on earth and deserve to live in a happy eternal life.”

The inspector of health issued a report attributing cause of the deaths due to with the drowning.

My next door neighbours.

I didn't know them...other than a brief hello.

We share the pool man who saw the bodies and he told me about it. Hard to believe.

I've been expecting a knock on the door to ask whether we'd heard anything...but they obviously do things differently here.

This sounds so fanciful it could be an Egyptian police cover up story ;)

Don't understand the story.

If it was a joint suicide how would it work?

One ties up the other and then throws that person into the pool. The survivor then ties himself up. But how could this be done in a way which would prevent them releasing them-self and how could they then get themselves into the pool to kill themselves?

Still one was Irish - and that country is not averse to self destructive behavior - or at least over the last thousand years.

It appears they tied themselves up in chains, weighted with gym weights, and jumped in together.

A bit like a Houdini-style escapology stunt.....without the escape mechanism

I suppose, provided the chains or whatever were sufficiently secure, they would drown before any natural tendency to seek escape could be effected.
.
Truly bizarre.

Going to meet ones maker in what may well be classed as suitable attire. 8)

They did say they wanted to explore what happens after death, not stay there until their number gets called again, so what was the plan for coming back ?

They could of got themselves ready at the chosen spot in the pool as it filled up. At least this method of madness would of given one, or both, the time needed to reconsider their options as one or the other stated ''f*** this for a game of stonies wheres the key.'' In the good old days, this would, or could have been prevented by the intervention of a caring and/or nosy neighbour. :D Trust no one, the real truth is out there.
