Tomb of Amemhotep II

Post by AladdinSane »

Is the tomb of Amemhotep in the VOTK open to the public?

I believe the ticket price to the VOTK includes entrance to 3 tombs. Could anyone suggest 3 tombs worth visiting? I have visited the VOTK in the past but can't remember which tombs I visited apart from Ramesses - and I'm not sure which one!

Not all the tombs in Valley of the Kings are necessarily open at the same time. You'd be best to have identified the tombs you would really like to see, and then have a back up alternative list.

Amemhotep's is my first choice. However; the previous time I visited VOTK it wasn't open to the public. Is there a current list, available to the public, which states which tombs are open?

I would not rely too much on any list, best to just check when you arrive.

In my experience, KV35 (Amenhotep II) is not normally open to the public.

But! for only a measly 5000le anything is possible, all major CC accepted, not paypal, and $$$ preferred.
Wear dark clothing and bring a torch. Sandwiches & water supplied.
