So why when you go to the BA website Luxor is not even listed as a destination?

I just assumed this was an Egyptair flight.

Because BA have not flown to Luxor since the last century.

I guess this is Egyptair's revamped direct flight. I doubt BA have any interest in flying to Luxor except on an odd charter.

What is a revamped flight.

FYI BA flew scheduled flights to Luxor in the 80's and late 90's

Indeed they did, Bombay! I was on a 3 centre tour with BA in 1996. We flew first to Luxor; then overland to Aswan; we flew from Aswan to Cairo, and then back to Luxor for the BA flight back to Gatwick.

YES this is with EGYPT AIR but only one direct flight scheduled per week and that is a MONDAY. When I booked this it said only 2 seats remaining yet when I chose my seat only 20 or so seats were booked! so unless the flight fills up by November there will be no chance of other days being added. The more flights that come direct to Luxor the more confidence tourists will have, as many are still reluctant about Egypt.

There is only one direct flight per week on Mondays with Egyptair always been the case (when operating!)it unfortunately seems to be seasonal at the moment.
2 seats at that price probably once they are sold it becomes the next price level bit like easyJet.

I very much doubt adding more flights will boost confidence.

Because BA does not fly to Luxor. Not even on a code-share. :a23:

I booked my ticket two weeks ago and paid £353 for a direct flight, LHR-LUX on a Monday in February. I'm really pleased with that because if I had gone as I'd planned, via Cairo, then it would have cost me another £100+.

The direct flight or the via Cairo option are both worth checking out when considering flying to Luxor from Heathrow. Sometimes it's cheaper on one route than the other, but it does vary. Of course, being able to fly direct must be a huge bonus, but sometimes the cost of that route can outweigh the convenience.

I assume as always it is down to when you want to fly, how flexible you can be in your own arrangements, and what seat availability the airline have released in any given price bracket.

I'd be really interested to know the following.

From the details given I'm assuming this is just one way.
Did you book direct with Egyptair or through a third party?
What hold baggage have they allowed you for this flight?

Not at all.
This is a return ticket with 23kg hold luggage and I booked it direct with Egyptair. There are three of us travelling together too.
