Egypt has employed a aviation high risk company in the U.K. (at a cost of £600,000) to carry out a study at the airports in Cairo, Sharm El Sheikh and Marsa Alam. The company mentioned is perhaps the best in the world for advising and supply of top grade high risks security instruments.
This will be part one of a two part project, the second being the purchase and installation of such recommended products. Part one of this project will go ahead immediately.
There was no mention of Luxor Airport.
GOOD NEWS, at last.

Re: GOOD NEWS, at last.
I'd have thought the problem was more of staff attitude and procedures at the airports.....not the equipment, although I expect that too is in need of overhaul.

Not just attitude or procedures but also sympathies may be a problem.newcastle wrote:I'd have thought the problem was more of staff attitude and procedures at the airports.....not the equipment, although I expect that too is in need of overhaul.

Re: GOOD NEWS, at last.
They just instil more fear into the harmless smuggler.
I first got 'nicked coming into Dover, about 1969,
I used to smuggle currency and other stuff backwards and forwards to France.
One day the 'very nice customs officer asked......
"Well young man and how long have you been out of the country ?
"Only 9 months Sir"
"Are you really sure ?
"Oh! yes Sir, only 9 months"
"Well then my Son, I'm impounding your new car"
It cost me £750 in tax 2 months later, the customs officer later said to me....
"Why don't you say 12 months ?
I said "Well I didn't really expect you to-be helping me, now did I ?
His response " We are not all nasty bas**rds, really! "
Last time I got pulled was at Thiefrow, by an armed pair of H&K carrying coppers..quite hilarious really..
NB: 'I still smuggle stuff just for the pure hell of it and of course the adrenaline-rush.....
Ps: The reason I got 'nicked was because I booked through E-Air online, the buggers were waiting for me...

It will have to if they want to fly in or out of any British airport, being Luxor/U.K. direct.Major Thom wrote:I suppose the air traffic to Luxor does not warrant these devices!

Yes! tourists money will go further and the spending power will be greater. Lets hope it does not get spoiled by people using the rip off system, that will have an adverse effect.
