Mummy of Tutankhamun to remain in Valley of the Kings
Nevine El-Aref , Tuesday 25 Aug 2015
After much debate, the decision has been reached not to move the mummy of the boy king Tutankhamun to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The mummy will remain in the Valley of the Kings on the Nile's west bank near Luxor.
Antiquities minister Mamdouh Eldamaty told Ahram Online that after technical discussions and a prolonged study the ministry has decided to keep the mummy inside the tomb, not in its current location at the tomb's entrance hall, but in a side chamber.
This chamber, Eldamaty explained, will be restored by the Getty Foundation, and a new lighting set-up will lend a mysterious atmosphere to the mummy's new home.
The mummy, he continued, will have a sophisticated showcase equipped with state of the art preservation devices.
"Putting the mummy back inside its original sarcophagus is off the cards," said Eldamaty. He said that the atmosphere inside the sarcophagus is no longer suitable, and that it would make the mummy's periodic examination too complicated.
"The lid is too heavy," he said, before adding that closing the mummy inside its original sarcophagus would prevent the tomb's visitors from being able to see the famous relic.

Re: Mummy of Tutankhamun to Remain in Valley of the Kings
I do often wonder IF that was the name of this Mummy
from my perspective, and others like me, the name just means who we are.
Living image of the light and Living image of the body.
Obviously those religions people have been following for the last 5000 years may have altered that perception
We are Fire, ( on the right ) we are Stone... ( on the left )
Also odd to note that since Howard Carter put that mummy back in the boxes and photographed the mummy intact ( the camera never lies ) it seems the Penis and Breast plate has mysteriously gone missing, as was discovered in 1968..
Now, I was wondering how long is long enough before raiding a tomb becomes acceptable ?
My Grandad was buried wearing a very expensive Rolex watch back in 1979, and I reckon that it must be worth a few quid right now...

They say they are currently refurbishing his tomb, personally I reckon they are 'side-scanning the walls before Nicholas Reeves arrives in September to try to prove his theory on Nefertiti, who knows ? anybody ? got any better ideas, they also say this has been planned for ages, yeh! right of course it has...

I Doubt Nefi' is behind any hidden walls, she has already been found, but if you tell people what they are looking at, then that is what they will see.
