So What Will the Response of the Committee Be to This?

Post by Glyphdoctor »

An article that basically says the government, has lied about the current state of tourism (from July-Sept there were only about 1200 tourists who visited Luxor), and that 50% of those who did come actually got their trips paid for by the governorate just to make it look like tourists were coming, and wasted money on useless efforts to promote tourism (i.e. the French security "expert" who came to confirm everything was safe was actually paid 100,000LE to say that), and the food aid to the caleche drivers was only 1 kilo of ful, 2 kilos of lentils and 2 boxes of tea. Among a number of other criticisms of efforts to promote tourism:

I would comment but I find the question offensive.

The response will be 'please put your comments in an e-mail otherwise they will not be discussed at the meeting'.

Very interesting read...if you understood Arabic. No matter what, in all walks of life you will see these kind of accusations flying about. Is it dishonest to pay for such reports? Not if the report is honest in itself, good or bad. Would they use an unfavorable report if submitted? Doubtful, but at the same time, debatable.
Life is your's to do with as you wish- do not let other's try to control it for you. Count Dusak- 1345.

Twice a month plus food for the horses through Brook Hospital.
I don't believe the committee was formed then so not much they could say. Now that more countries have lifted their Travel Advisories I would think that the future is more their concern.
Its been fairly obvious that statements about tourist numbers from some quarters have been over optimistic.
