I hope this message falls in a peaceful period so governments do actually reconsider travel advice

He never mentioned Upper Egypt once, like all the rest he seemed only concerned about the red sea resorts. Surely he must realize Luxor needs a tourist boost (that should please who2 :D ) and offers more than the red sea resorts. It offers real Egypt; the Egypt we all love to return too.

Its all about where is the easiest win. If Governments change their warnings the most likely is the beach resorts and that will have the biggest impact for the country as a whole. Getting other areas off the danger list will be harder and have less impact. Unfortunate as it is it will be harder to convince Western countries to remove the warning from Luxor and other areas where there has been visible damage and violence.

I suppose they have to get tourists back to the Red Sea resorts first and then they'll start promoting Upper Egypt.

I appreciate his effort in making the film but, as a member of the government, I would have thought he had access to a cameraman who at least would use a tripod to make the film. It looked more like a home movie than an official one!

He says that due to the [unfortunate] media coverage that indicates that its untrue in his view, then says that when you watch all the negativity and violence on your TV's, don't worry as its getting better, thus indicating what we watched in the first place that he disagrees with, was factual. The big H & S were always the money spinners, so he is wanting these area's to get back to normal levels of income. As Darkstar pointed out, once again Luxor wasn't mentioned. Dose this mean that he knows something that the rest of us don't? I think that the gold star he was given, as seen on his desktop for all to see, should be taken off him for a very poor publicity stunt. We Europeans are far to intelligent to be beguiled by it all.

There can only be small steps back to "normality" and It will take time, I would applaud all the small steps starting with reducing the curfews, ensuring that Fridays passes with only peaceful marches and that tourist sites have sufficient police presence for people to feel confident returning. The Egyptian Government can't control what other governments do but they can work on setting up the right conditions.

My main complain now about this post is that every time I follow it on day by day, the video starts to play, as its doing now apart from when I post. I think that he may of read what I said about him.
