This was asked just recently on E4u. I suggested there we need a very obvious spot on this topic somewhere, as it appears every now and then.

It would be lovely if someone would post some pictures of Ramadan - the lights and anything else that makes Luxor different at this time.

To upload a photo

1 make sure the picture isn't too big (if you do a search of the forums for resize photo you'll find Keefy's topic with a programm to resize)

viewtopic.php?f=32&t=27459

Maximum File size:
500 KiB

Maximum dimensions:
Image width: 1280
Image height: 1024

2 Once you have re-sized your photo and saved them on your computer go to the gallery page (scroll to the top of this page and gallery is in the middle)

3 Decide which gallery / album you want to upload your picture - if you want to put it in your own gallery/album scroll down about half way of the gallery index page and you will find your personal album - open this up

4 there is an upload button - click and follow the instructions

Step 5 - how to get the photo you have saved to an album to be included in a topic will follow later - off to work now

unfortunately Hepzi the Ramadan lights and flags across the streets seem to be getting less and less each year, probably due to a lack of money :(

Outskirts of Teba, Luxor (9:14am)
This place is huge now, there is kilometers of
spare land that already has street lamps and roads
in place ready for new buildings to be built.

To post the images in a post:

While looking at the thumbnails, click the Image name under the thumbnail, this will open the photo in a different page with information on the photo like when the photo was taken, did they use a flash etc etc... you can also comment on the photo from this page.

Also here is where you get the mage BBCode: so you can post the photo in your post.

It looks like below:-

[album]11205[/album]

It will have a different number for each photo.. Copy this code and paste it into your post.

Many thanks to Keefy for going out of his way to try to fulfil my request.

To Ruby Slippers a big thank you for such a lovely photo.

I've never been in Luxor during Ramadan, although I had hoped to be there now for the end of Ramadan and Eid il Fitr - it just wasn't to be. My friends tell me about the lights and atmosphere so my best hope was if any one here had captured something of it on camera.

Oh Keefy! You could have preserved my illusions! Seriously, thanks so much for doing it and for the instructions. I'm glad you liked it, Hepzi! :up Unfortunately it is an old one - 2004 - but hopefully none the worse for that.
