Are they two Egyptian 'Flowerpot Men' above the pilot?

Just as a footnote here, the incident I report on else where on this form today, has nothing what so ever to do with this accident.

The pilot of this balloon, I all so know, and yes he is one of the best, but him having a Blue Peter Badge, I think not, these were few and far between.

Blue Peter did come to Luxor a few years ago and were flown by Hod Hod balloons. I remember MD telling us all about it.

Yes and he wears his badge with pride. The BP team were taken up by him and that's how he earned the badge.

Having taken a baloon flight in Morocco a few days ago, I am glad I had not seen the video or read the thread before hand.

I must admit, I found the Egyptian flights I've done far more enjoyable than the Moroccan one (mainly as there is more to see) We had have a rather strange landing as the pilot allowed the basket to tip over and we all had to crawl out....strange!

I agree Lisa ! when I went up in a balloon in Kenya we had to take off with the basket on it's side :o and that was how we had to land ! Very strange ! Infact when my nephews fiancee told me how they took off and landed,I didn't beleive her and said no, no you can't do that ! but we did.
I didn't like it though, it felt wrong !

I think they call that the German landing Lisak ;) . Our pilot explained that different kinds of landing are given natonal names. Naturally he said the Egyptian landing was the perfect one, with the basket landing softly and upright, which I'm glad to say was the one that we experienced.

Yes there are different types of landings Diana :) and the pilot I had in Kenya knows the Egyptian landings well too :) but I prefer to be standing on landing and taking off.

I don't blame you Mimimay. What a strange experience to take off lying down. I don't think I would ever do another balloon flight as I didn't really enjoy it all that much.
