Thanks for the replies I suppose until uk gov lift the travel advisory regarding egypt it's all immaterial! You cant go or if you do you are taking a big risk!

I got a data SIM from etislat at the airport put it in an old phone and used that it worked pretty well, found etislat to be much cheaper than vodephone
